“Anticipation”

As I was sketching out ideas, my pen went dry - and it was oddly gratifying. I had just bought the pen two weeks ago and had already sketched so much that I'd exhausted all the ink. That's when I came up with the idea of having a pen reflect the life that's left. I added a dial to the end of the pen that measures the ink remaining. One little change to the product essentially changes your relationship with it. When the pen can visually measure you're productivity, you become driven to use it, and motivated to drive the needle to zero. Adding a dial to the top of the pen helps you anticipate that tiny moment of satisfaction (and also lets you know when to buy more ink).
